Charles joined Davies as CEO in July 2009.  A pre-eminent figure in the market, Charles has a unique insight into the needs of our customers as a result of his impressive career and background as an Insurance Underwriter.  Charles trained at Royal Insurance before moving to Churchill where he undertook a variety of executive leadership roles. This was followed by seven years at board level with RBS.  Charles has played an active role within the Association of British Insurers throughout his career; he is highly respected within the market and sought after by the insurance press for his insight and market commentary.

With 20 years’ experience in the loss adjusting market Darren is highly regarded as a leader in the field.   Darren joined Davies in 2001, following positions at Cunningham Hart and Pycraft & Arnold. He became a Partner in 2003 with responsibility for Operations in South West/Wales, as well as Group Business Development. Following the MBO in 2008 Darren was appointed Director of Markets and has been and instrumental figure in the rapid growth and success of the business to date.

Martin joined Davies in early 2008 bringing within him over 30 years’ experience in the claims market.  His career has included positions at Thomas Howell Selfe and Ellis & Buckle/Cunningham Lindsey.  In 2000, Martin took the bold step of launching his own venture, Eastwell, and remains today as MD of the business having navigated it through substantial growth and acquisition. In 2001 Martin also acquired equity in a small regional disaster restoration company, Regency Response Ltd, and subsequently grew the business nationally.  In addition, to his role as MD of Eastwell, Martin is Head of Fulfilment for the Davies Group and is responsible for all panel supplier arrangements.

Gary joined the Davies Group in September 2008.  A Chartered Accountant, Gary previously held positions at KPMG, Ernst & Young and Hogg Robinson where notably he led the firm in a number of international M&A deals including the Group’s £70m acquisition of Kuoni’s Central European travel management businesses in 2004. This was followed by a move to the Swiss business where he held the position of Finance Director leading the restructure and integration in the run up to the IPO of late 2006. Gary is a key figure in the Davies Management team and has significantly transformed the finance team and its role within the Group.

With such a strong focus on IT development we need a strong leader.  Joe joined Davies in October 2008 and has transformed the delivery and scope of our IT capability.  An innovative and highly skilled IT professional Joe has substantial experience of developing IT solutions for both UK and international companies across a variety of business sectors.  Prior to joining Davies he held senior positions at Cap Gemini and a number of mid- sized companies.

With over 30 years’ loss adjusting and claims management experience, Gary joined Davies in 2007, previously holding senior and board positions within Cunningham Lindsey, Capita and Miller Fisher.

Gary’s role as Business Development Director is primarily focussed upon the acquisition of new business and new clients, in addition to managing a number of existing client relationships.
