Davies Group appointed as expert to help handle London riot claims

Davies Group have today announced that they are part of an expert panel
put together by the Metropolitan Police Authority (MPA) to assist in the
settlement of larger or more difficult claims arising from the rioting in
London during the early part of August 2011. 

 

The MPA has stated that there are some £5m worth of claims to be dealt
with under the Riot Damages Act, whereby those affected, including insurers
can be awarded compensation for the financial loss suffered. It has been said
that it is unlikely that insurers will recover the full amount paid out by them.
