Darren Martin

"I joined Davies in March 2000 to work as a Developer on the two core claims systems used within the Group. I had previously worked on systems for Social Services so this was a huge change in culture for me. I decided to join Davies due to location, having recently moved out of London, their Stone branch was on my doorstep.

Due to the role, I worked with all levels of staff within the Group and found them all to be both friendly and approachable, regardless of their position in the company.

As my knowledge of the industry grew, I went through two complete system re-writes, one being for loss adjusting and one for the desktop claims handling service.

The IT department grew over the years, and I became Lead Developer in 2004, where I was responsible for three other developers all working on the increasing demands on IT, introducing new technologies such as document imaging, digital pens and digital dictation.

In September 2006, my commitment and hard work was rewarded by being promoted to Associate Director."

Suzanne Jones

"I joined Davies in June 2000 to form part of a new team, Davies Service Centre. I moved from a predominantly finance based background, so insurance and loss adjusting was completely new to me at the time. The initial induction and on the job training I received gave me a great understanding of the Industry, and was an important footing for me in starting my new career path.

I have always been encouraged to develop personally by Davies. As a result of this, coupled with my own motivation, ambition and the group business growth, I was promoted to Team Leader within 12 months of joining and in 2007 achieved Manager status looking after Service Centre, Central Administration and Secretarial Support teams. I am also a member of the project management team for Compliance, Health and Safety and Recruitment.

Since I joined Davies, I have been privileged to work with a large number of Group personnel of all levels, and their continued support, enthusiasm and commitment never ceases to amaze me!

Davies do invest in their staff (time, industry qualifications), and I am evidence of this, that said, today there are still opportunities in Davies for people who have the drive and ambition to achieve."
